GALANGAL ROOT ESSENTIAL OIL

Description

Galangal essential oil contains main components, namely, cineol and phenol,
with antimicrobial activity. The presence of these activities causes a decrease in
methanogens and proteolytic bacteria. This study examines the yield and bioactive
composition of essential oils extracted from galangal rhizomes. Galangal oil is obtained through a steam distillation process originating from the rhizomes of the forest galangal plant. Contains methyl-cinnamate compounds, cineol, eugenol, camphor. the Alpinia galanga plant growing in Indonesia. Galangal is best known as a popular culinary seasoning in many Asian cuisines where it adds heavenly flavor and aroma to Thai and Vietnamese soups and other foods.
