GINGER LILY ESSENTIAL OIL

Description

Gandasuli (Hedychium coronarium J. Koenig) is a type of spice plant that has medicinal properties. The part that is mainly used is the rhizome. From the fragrant flowers, essential oil is extracted as a perfume seed. This plant is known to contain methanol and dichloromethane extracts which can be used as antibacterials. The plant is native to tropical and subtropical Asia. There are 30 known species in Asia Ginger Lily is also found in regions of North America and Europe. ‘Hedychium’ is quite common in Brazil where it is considered as an aggressive weed.This perennial plant grows up to 6 feet with leaves measuring about 30 cm.
