Finger Root Oil

This plant grows up to 45 cm and produces clusters of white flowers. The leaves are long and light green which gather at the base of the stem. In Indonesia, tuberose flowers are processed into dishes, such as tuberose flower soup, kimlo or tekwan. Tuberose flowers have been used as a basic ingredient for making perfume since the 17th century. This flower, especially the one with a single crown, has a higher fragrance compared to other types, so it has great potential to be developed as a source of essential oil. The essential oil produced from this plant is widely used as raw material for high quality perfume fragrances, and has also been widely used in aromatherapy as an antidepressant which can reduce a person’s emotional level. One type of aromatherapy used as an antidepressant is Tuberose flower oil (Polianthes tuberose) 0.5% and 1% with nerol content which is thought to function as an antidepressant.
