MASSOIA BARK ESSENTIAL OIL

Description

This plant has effects as an antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticytotoxic, antibacterial and bioflim. Local people use the bark of the masoyi tree to extract its essential oil. Mesoyi or masoi (Cryptocarya massoia (Oken) Kosterm.) is a type of tree that is related to cinnamon. In Papua it is known as aikor, which is a tree with a height of about 25 m. The large stem has a diameter of ± 30 cm, the thickness of the pepagan (bark) can reach 0.5 cm and gives off a fragrant aroma. The fragrance comes from the essential oil content known as Massoia lactone.
